Challenge
The firm advised Austrian SMEs, landlords, and public-sector clients on energy audits, subsidy applications, and efficiency retrofits. Their website was a static brochure from 2014: it listed services in legal-style German, had no working lead form beyond a mailto link, and contact details were sent as plain-text email attachments. Downloadable energy-audit PDFs were openly linked with no privacy notice, and there was no cookie banner - a problem for any Austrian firm that needed to pass a data-protection review.
Solution
We redesigned the site as a modern professional-services layout - services, client sectors, about, insights, and contact - written in clear Austrian German. Lead capture forms were rebuilt end to end, with a cookie consent banner that blocks analytics until a visitor opts in. The free energy-audit templates are now gated behind a short form (name, company, email, phone) that double-checks consent before sending a signed, time-limited download link.
Technical Approach
The site is statically generated behind a CMS, with a consent manager that keeps analytics scripts and embedded videos blocked until explicit opt-in. Form submissions are encrypted in transit and written straight into their CRM under a signed data-processing agreement; the old mailto flow was retired. Download gates issue a single-use, expiring link so templates cannot be redistributed without a tracked lead record.
Results
Qualified energy-audit inquiries rose by 38% within three months as the gated templates started pulling leads that used to come only through referrals. The GDPR/DPA audit passed on the first submission with no revisions, and the mobile PageSpeed score climbed from 51 to 94, clearing all Core Web Vitals for the first time.
